Social CareOver the summer of 2012 David Ward asked your opinions on the future of social care both in Bradford and across the UK.

In the next year Parliament will be introducing a Social Care Bill that will see big changes to the way social care is provided in the UK it is important that every one has their say. Whether you recive social care services, provide care for a family member or work in the social care sector your views could help to shape the future of care.

At the start of his campaign David Ward said "As an MP, I meet many people who have experienced the care and support services. Some people receive good service, some poor, but the one thing all agree on is that it can be improved. I need your help to do that"

David Wards Social Care Summit

On Thursday 10th January, David Ward MP worked with Bradford Alliance on Community Care (BACC) to organise a meeting to discuss the effects of the Social Care White Paper and how it will affect those that are in care or are carers in Bradford.

David Ward's Social Care Report

On Tuesday 26th February David Ward published his report into Social Care in Bradford and how it will affect carers and those in care. You can read the full text by clicking on the link above.

"The thing that I am most proud of is that this research was a real joint effort with fantastic local contributions. It was crucial that Bradfordians were aware of the social care reforms but more importantly that they had an opportunity to contribute to the legislation with the voices and views of Bradford East being heard at the centre of this process".

Thank you to everyone who completed the surveys or contributed to the many consultations.

If you are a resident of the Bradford East constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
