Kipling's restaurant in Bradford has beaten all competition in the Region to represent Bradford in the 2012 Tiffin Cup. The final will be held in Parliament on 27th June 2012 ,where they will take on some of the best South Asian restaurants from around the country.
The Bradford restaurant was nominated by David Ward MP earlier this year to battle it out for the prestigious Tiffin Cup. The prize is awarded annually by Parliament's Tiffin Club, formed in 2006 to celebrate the quality of South Asian food in Britain while also raising money for good causes. This year the competition is in aid of the charity World Vision.
Commenting on the news, Kipling's owner Mohammed Rafiq said:
"I was over the moon to be nominated for this competition. Now we are in the final we are going all out to bring this title back to Bradford in the year that our city won the Curry Capital of the UK."
Commenting, David Ward MP said:
"I am delighted Kipling's have made it through to the final. They have a fantastic record of serving up great food in a pleasant and friendly restaurant. They were part of the team that won back the Curry Capital title for Bradford and the dish in this year's Tiffin Cup was also named the Official dish of the London 2012 Olympic bid. I know that they will do Bradford proud."
